Apartment renovation in Alimos
The house that we were assigned to renovate is in the area of Kalamaki and is located on the 3rd floor of an apartment building built in 1970. Our work was limited to the open plan living room – dining room, the entrance of the house and partly the kitchen area.
The owners’ demands were clear from the beginning: To install a wooden floor because the cold marble did not offer them the “warmth” they wanted in their home. Also, due to the top floor and north orientation, the living room and the dining room were among the coldest parts of the house, so this point also had to be corrected. The kitchen was recently renovated so it was a spot we did not want to replace.
Our proposal, to transform the space and make it warmer for the family, included replacing the marble floor with a semi-solid wood floor, enhancing the heating by replacing the old traditional fireplace with energy and installing insulation on the roof of the space so that to reduce losses. After the three-dimensional designs that were decided together, we proceeded with the whole construction.
Decoratively, the single composition of the corner energy fireplace Kratki Oliwia 18kW, which is covered with black granite, stands out. We also took the same wood of the floor and created a construction behind the TV as well as a shelf in the composition to match all the materials together. The result was completed with suspended ceilings and hidden ceiling lights. Finally, for the aquarium of the house, a composition was made – entrance closet so that it offers rich storage spaces but also a nice image as you enter the house.
