Total renovation of an apartment in Moschato
The task assigned to us was to renovate a 110-square-meter house that was designed and built in the 1990s
The apartment had 3 bedrooms, bathroom, WC and open plan kitchen – living room – dining room. But the needs of the new owners were different. The open space remained the same and we joined the 2 bedrooms to create a master bedroom with a separate dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
After the hydraulic and electrical supplies were rebuilt to meet the new needs of the apartment, we had to solve the heating problem. In collaboration with the owners we chose the solution of underfloor heating that offers uniform heating throughout the house with maximum comfort and economy. As a heat source we chose a Daikin heat pump that was installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications by our specialized workshops. Of course, in order to reduce the losses in heating, we replaced the frames of the apartment with thermal break frames of the company ALUMIL series S350 in brown color so as not to offend the single face of the building.
For the installation needs of the underfloor heating, the floors were completely dismantled. After the completion of the works, granite tiles were placed in the open space of the house and semi-solid polished wooden floor in the bedrooms and in the dressing room. Particular attention was paid to the installation materials (putties) which were specifically for application on heated floors.
In the kitchen, emphasis was placed on the many but also easily accessible storage spaces. So more wagons were placed instead of cabinets. In the center of the kitchen stands the islet for better use of space. For the kitchen counter we chose a single Corian surface for excellent antimicrobial protection but also an impressive result.
In the bathroom and in the WC, the spaces were redesigned, built-in cisterns with hanging basins, bathroom furniture, faucets and shower cabin were installed, all of the company Ideal Standard.
In the living room we wanted to build an impressive composition to accommodate the energy fireplace of the company Edilkamin and the TV of the house. The construction was designed so that everything fits harmoniously.
Existing marbles were sanded and polished on the balcony floors. On the back balcony we built an external closet with sliding glass doors that will be used as a small storage room.
Finally, the house was painted in Benjamin Moore company colors chosen by the owners.
