Apartment Renovation in Palaio Psychiko (2023)

Project Description

This project involved the complete renovation of a 147 sq.m. floor-through apartment in Palaio Psychiko. The spatial redesign focused on unifying the reception areas, creating a single, light-filled space for the entrance, living room, and kitchen. In parallel, all three bedrooms were updated, two modern bathrooms were created, and a dedicated utility space (laundry/storage room) was integrated into the layout.

The design approach follows clean, minimal lines. The color palette pairs warm natural oak tones (applied to flooring, kitchen, and wardrobes) with soft gray-beige wall surfaces, creating a refined contrast with the pre-existing, grand Tinos green marble in the living room.

Technical Interventions & Construction Details

Modern Kitchen Design

• Installation of a high-end Italian kitchen featuring oak-finished surfaces, a Travertine marble-textured laminate countertop, gola profile handles, and smart storage mechanisms with soft-close hardware.

• Custom carpentry solutions, such as a tailored wardrobe-library composition in the living room integrated with Ferres decorative claustra screens, elevating the entrance with a modern, elegant aesthetic.

Bathroom Renovation

• Installation of built-in sanitary ware, wall-hung toilets, and wall-mounted vanities finished in natural wood veneer.

• Custom-crafted tile sinks using the same wall tiles, walk-in showers with clear glass panels, and recessed architectural niches with hidden LED lighting.

Energy Upgrade & Smart Home

• Installation of a high-efficiency Daikin natural gas boiler coupled with a solar water heater and an intelligent management system to maximize energy savings for domestic hot water.

• Placement of modern air conditioning units with remote control capabilities (Wi-Fi Control) alongside smart thermostats.

• Replacement of legacy window systems with new ETEM thermal-break aluminum profiles fitted with four-season energy-efficient glass panes.
